 about

This is an unofficial site, approved for creation as part of a University Assignment to explore Digital Heritage.

Designed o showcase the capability for historic and heritage artefacts to remain accessible to the public for viewing whilst the actual museum is being relocated to a new facility.

The site is a tribute to the 30th Anniversary of the formation of the AFP, as told through the AFP Museum’s collection. Each year is illustrated by an object selected for what it represents in the development of the organisation, the role of the AFP in Australian history or changes in policing. Some are generic and typical of their time, some are unique and mark a significant event.

Some have been seen rarely since their acquisition while others are iconic for the Museum.

This site gives a glimpse of the Museum’s eclectic and fascinating collection as well as a brief overview of the first 30 years of the Australian Federal Police.
