1985: Platypus prototype

Platypus prototype - The platypus is used as a symbol by the AFP as it represents the unification of the AFP’s predecessors and the diverse requirements placed on members in the execution of their duty. This prototype is a sculpted model placed on the mold of an upturned breakfast bowl. Donated by Terry Browne. (Cat. No. AFPM2098)

1987: Occurrence book from 1930's​

Occurrence book - Objects from the early 20th century, such as this 1930s Commonwealth Police (Federal Capital Territory) occurrence book, illustrate how policing has changed socially, technically and administratively. The AFP Museum collection was started in 1987 to preserve such objects. Donated by Kellie Jenkins. (Cat. No. AFPM2100)

1986: AFP Computer

Computer - Only six years after the introduction of its first mainframe computer, the AFP acquired computers such as this to use in an emerging field – computer forensics, including the investigation of computer game piracy. The subsequent proliferation of computer-based crime has contributed to high-tech crime becoming a major focus for the AFP. Donated by Andrew Nielsen. (Cat. No. AFPM2118, AFPM2119, AFPM2120)
