1998: Drug Boat

Drug boat - One of the Museum’s more popular objects is this boat seized in Operation Gentle. The fibreglass boat was sliced open to reveal 225 one-kilogram blocks of cocaine sandwiched between the hull and the decking, in some places three layers deep. At the time, this cocaine seizure was the largest in Australia with an estimated street value of $980 million. The drugs have since been destroyed. Donated by Bob Corrigan. (Cat. No. AFPM2107)
