2000: Counterfeit Poster for Sydney Olympics

Counterfeit poster - Cashing in on the popularity of the Olympics, unlicensed products bearing the Olympic Games and Sydney 2000 logos entered Australia. Working on information from AFP Overseas Liaison Officers, and their own sources, Australian Customs intercepted many goods. Showing signs of poor print quality, this counterfeit poster was seized in Bangkok by Thai police. Donated by Kevin McTavish. (Cat. No. AFPM1393)​

2002:
Sari Club Bundy Clock

Bundy clock - The Bali bombings were a major event in the history of Australia, with 88 Australians among the 202 people killed at the Sari Club and Paddy’s Bar. Many more were injured. The incident was also important for the AFP, with hundreds of members working on the investigation to assist the Indonesian National Police. Remarkably, this employee bundy clock survived - a chilling memorial to the club staff who tragically died. Donated by AFP Forensics. (Cat. No. AFPM2111)

2001:Compass

Compass - In recent years, Australia has become a destination for people arriving by sea without travel authorisation. Many of these people travel under difficult conditions in unseaworthy vessels that have poor equipment. This marine compass is from a Vietnamese fishing boat that carried unauthorised arrivals into Australian territorial waters near Ashmore Reef. Donated by David Bowman. (Cat. No. AFPM2110)
